I have written many many times about finally taking a cooking class and it is coming true on this Saturday, June 11, 2011 at 11AM. I'm taking Pasta Making I where I will learn how to make pasta and cook it. YUMMO! How exciting is this? Gonna take another French style class later in the summer. Will post all the dets next week!
Pasta Making I
Fresh pasta making seems like such a challenge to most people, but in fact it's as easy as 1-2-3. All you need is all purpose flour, eggs, and a little salt. That's it. Of course machines help in rolling it out, but actually little old ladies in Italy can do it with their rolling pins! We'll teach you all the tricks, including: kneading and working your dough, the best way to roll it out, how to make different shapes, and some yummy sauces for your new creations.
In this class you will make these types of pastas:
Fresh spaghetti with tomato, fennel, and salami
Fresh fettucine with meat sauce ragu
Fresh ravioli of butternut squash and ricotta cheese
